Display Menu Over Embeds

In some browsers, the drop-down menu appears behind embedded objects (like Flash videos, games, image galleries, etc.), or may only be partially visibile in front of such objects. You can fix and avoid this browser issue by ensuring that your object/embed tags have the following attribute(s) as shown below.

To avoid conflicts with embeds (like Flash), set the wmode attribute to transparent in all of your <embed /> tags, and set the value attribute to transparent in your <object /> tags.

<object width="320" height="256">
	<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
	<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/N1LtFh3uT44"></param>
	<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
	<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
	<embed wmode="transparent" src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/N1LtFh3uT44" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="256"></embed>
</object>

Note: If you prefer to simply hide intersecting embedded objects when the menu is displayed, see this document.

YouTube embeds

With YouTube's new embed code you can set the wmode property to transparent by adding either &amp;wmode=transparent or ?wmode=transparent to the end of the URL in the src attribute.
